Feel Good

Everyone wants to feel good. Everyone wants to be happy. This is the want that drives many of our decisions and actions. This is also the want that causes most of our pain and suffering. I say this because many of us allow the opinions, thoughts and actions of others to determine how we feel. We also hold on to our own thoughts and beliefs that may actually keep us from discovering our happiness.

We believe things that are not true about ourselves, about our bodies. We set our sights on external events, real and imagined, that we believe will bring us joy. But they never do. Have you ever noticed when you get what you want, you’re happy for a second, but then that second passes and you feel a little emptier than you were before you reached your goal? Happiness attached to external events, outcomes and circumstances is a trap of hell.

Happiness ruled by the opinions of others is the darkest death.

Only you can be the source for your happiness. Only you can determine if you will feel good or not. Happiness is your choice to express as the essence of who you are. Feeling good, while largely affected by your body, is still found within you and ultimately determined by you, the source of how you feel.

Does how you move affect how you feel? Or, does how you feel affect how you move?

Yes.

Does what you believe affect how you move and feel? Does what you believe determine your happiness?

Yes.

Do you believe you are stuck in your body? Do you believe your body is ugly, week, fat, misshapen?

Do you believe what your neighbor said about you is true? Do you believe what your parents said about you is true? Do you believe the stories you create in your head about yourself are true?

Do you allow the circumstances and events of the world to determine your happiness? Do you let the anger of others, the fear of others, the “best of intentions” of others tell you how to think, how to feel, or how you should be?

Don’t give away your happiness. Don’t believe the stories you create about yourself or the stories you hear or imagine others are creating.

You are your source. You.

If you are breathing, you are the source of your happiness. Let nothing outside of you, let no lie inside of you rob you from feeling good and being happy.

It’s easy to know if you’ve given your power of happiness over to the world. If your happiness comes and goes like the wind based off world events, or the words and deeds of others, you’ve given your happiness away.

But how do you know if there is a lie on the inside causing you to suffer?

If you have thoughts of fear, thoughts of should haves, would haves, could haves, thoughts of guilt, thoughts of shame, if you have any such thoughts of bondage, it’s a lie.

Let go of those.

Thoughts that feel like “shrinking darkness” are lies. Thoughts that feel like “emerging light” are truths.

For example. Do you feel stuck in your body? That’s a lie, a dark, shrinking thought. Did you know your body can heal from anything? It can even heal from false belief systems.

Or, do you feel like you’re not good enough to be promoted, worthy to get the job of your dreams, that you don’t deserve to be happy, or do you ever feel like eventually “they” will learn the truth about you? Those are dark, shrinking thoughts - lies. Let those go.

Don’t listen to the lies. Don’t let others, or events, determine your happiness.

Be happy. Love yourself. You are your source. There is no one else. You’re good enough. You’re worthy. You do deserve to feel good. You are an emerging light. We all are.

We all want to be happy and feel good. We all want what we are. But as often goes, when you find what you’re looking for, it’s always in the last place you look.
